Llívia Municipal Museum

The Municipal Museum of Llívia was created in 1980. However, we have evidence that in 1922 the pharmacy was already visited. In 1965, the purchase of the pharmacy by the Diputació de Girona from the Esteva family led to its first museum space in 1973. The creation of the Board of Trustees of the Municipal Museum of Llívia, in 1980 , will define the institution and create a permanent museum space, which will be renovated in 2012, adapting it to the new museum trends.

The museum has a permanent exhibition that consists of three rooms: the first tells the story of Llívia, the second tells us the history of the Pharmacy, and the last tells the history of the Esteva Pharmacy, run from at least in 1704, its furniture heritage and the museum. The hearty baroque style of the old pharmacy has survived, the shelves with cobalt blue and blue and white jars, and especially the set of polychrome boxes with various figures of saints and sages from classical antiquity. We recommend that you explore the collection to discover its secrets or take a tour with the virtual tour.
